RE-UPdate #25: A strategic approach to fashion

As we come ever closer to the end of the working week, we once again sit-down to reflect on the activity and antics of office life…and what an office this is!

One of the key tasks for the RE-UP team to face this week has been developing a creative strategy for the Méduse Christmas digital campaign. By taking inspiration from previous Christmas campaigns from leading figures in the world of fashion, our team has begun developing new creative concepts that can help drive a greater brand awareness and engage the general public with Méduse’s winter collection.

In the coming week the team will look to accelerate forwards with the initial ideas that we have already developed within the past few days.

But Méduse aren’t the only fashion-focused brand on our radar this week as we’ve been looking to develop a new tagline and digital brand positioning for the French children’s shoe brand Bopy. The project has involved the strategic team analysing leading kidswear and children’s shoe brands from across the world to develop a greater understanding and knowledge of the industry standard. From the conclusive analysis we gathered, our creative team have begun developing a new tagline and building a creative manifesto that will set-out the brand identity for the future.

Oh and we’ve also got another fashion project on the horizon that will be rolling out across October onwards. Some of the team have a shopping based ‘research’ trip to enjoy this weekend too so look out for updates over the coming weeks of all out ‘fashionable’ antics.

Finally the team have been continuing to make strides in the new project for Fondation de la Haute Horlogerie. Our researchers are actively building a database full of influencers who specialise in luxury and horology, and building up their own knowledge of the industry through market research and publication analysis – Vanity Fair’s October supplement On Time being a key read for the team.

But work isn’t the only thing keeping us busy as we continue to keep up-to-date with all the trending media news:

  • You’d have to live under a rock to have missed the Twitterstorm that erupted due to the announcement of a new smartphone app called Peeple. Described as Yelp for people, the app will allow users to rate their friends, family members, colleagues, ex and whoever else they like (even if the person in question hasn’t personally created an account). Unsurprisingly the app hasn’t gone down that well with Internet users, showing that just because you deem something to be innovative for a digitally connected society, doesn’t mean that it will emotionally connect with an audience.
  • The launch of the Tesla Model X electric SUV sees the brand firmly root itself as a leader in the automotive industry. Will other brands follow the path that Tesla has laid out, or will they venture down a different avenue with the risk of small rewards?

So what else is there to say – other than happy Friday, bon weekend, and here’s to another week of plenty at RE-UP!
