Now it’s nearing September, it’s almost time for back to school season – but we’ve not had six weeks off, no siree! There’s been plenty of change, of course, and even the last week has seen lots of exciting new developments, including Krish finally getting a holiday!
That, however, is only the tip of the RE-UP iceberg, of course: from starting the week with Martin’s presentation on data protection, to preparing the launch of both Méduse’s and Bopy’s new Autumn / Winter Collections – all in anticipation for that back to school period.
One highlight has been developing an editorial calendar for Shu Uemura Art of Hair, including a refresh of a contest that we can’t wait to see live!
Thursday saw Pierre, Laurent and Efrem deliver a major pitch to a potential client – with the results next week, we’re keeping our fingers crossed. We were helped by our friends at Linkfluence who delivered a tremendous job, supporting the whole social media and creative ideas.
Laurent just got great news as he’s shortlisted for a “Young Digital Leader of the Year“award. Fantastic news for RE-UP as it’s a way to celebrate the whole team.
Margaux and Tina have just launched a Digital Challenge for the Mozilla Teams collaborating with us on Firefox OS Africa, and our designer Nuveen has been developing mockups Firefox’s print campaign.
And lastly, we’ve delivered an enormous level of content to a huge EMEA client, and implementing fresh social media strategies across the board to keep things current and keep RE-UP well ahead of the game!
Naturally, amidst all the office buzz, we’ve been well aware of the busy world externally. This week has been especially hot – both for London weather and for tech! Here are our favourites that we’ve noticed along the way:
- A new app called VHS Camcorder is taking the digital world by storm. The app, designed by Rarevision, aims to “look and sound like videotape recordings that have been in storage for 30 years”. It will allow iPhone users to film footage on their smartphone and give the impression that it is a vintage home video. It’s vintage at its most modern!
- The US Food and Drug Association has just approved the latest medical breakthrough! Aprecia, an American drug manufacturer has just used a 3D printer to produce pills that reduce seizures caused by Epilepsy. Aprecia’s patents will give them a competitive advantage until 2033 as they are the pioneering company; however, the hope is that UK patents will begin confirmation soon. The dosage, which historically has been harder to supply correctly to individual patient needs, will be far more accurate, showing the effectiveness of this new method of manufacturing pills.
- Tech just keeps getting more zany! There is a brand new camera innovation soon to be on the market, and it comes in spherical form: that’s right, you heard us. The new ball shaped camera, dubbed the Panono, is pioneering 630° photography, and it’s the first bit of high tech that WANTS to be thrown! Chucking it up high ensures a picture from every angle, all at 108 megapixels each, leading a whole new photographic era. Sounds like we’ll have a ball when it finally gets released!
- There’s a huge tech drive from Ralph Lauren to market their new high-tech workout shirts. Named PoloTech, this innovative design sees a collaboration between the high fashion brand and the tech firm OmSignal to provide a whole new form of fitness monitoring. PoloTech t-shirts will offer a real time analysis of your workout in order to give biometric-based suggestions for how to keep on improving your fitness levels. A truly exciting fitness evolution!
With RE-UP ever changing and growing, the next week is sure to see even greater challenges even better executed. Be sure to revisit to keep up to date with RE-UP life and keep moving at the pace we are!
