- My word of the week is mansuetude: which means the quality or state of being gentle, or meek. Eg. Bill was well known for his mansuetude towards his colleagues.
- The Rembrandt’s famous Night Watch is wrongly named. Rembrandt indeed painted a daylight scene. The night effect is due to the ageing of the polish so as the dirt and the use of bitumen as a binder – Lisa
- We’ve all experienced error 404 page. But did you know that for a working web page, the status is 200 OK? – Laurent

- Monet’s Déjeuner sur l’herbe is a thorough sketch (130x181cm). Monet actually painted the canvas (4x6m) but finding himself in an extremely precarious situation he gave it to his landlord. When he got it back, the painting was damaged. He cut it into pieces and kept only 3. 2 of those are nowadays at the Orsay museum and the 3rd disappeared. – Victoria F
