It’s been an action packed week at RE-UP HQ.
One of our highlights was on Tuesday, when the team was joined by a group of design students from Ravensbourne College for a creative workshop. Briefed in to come up with creative solutions for French shoe brand Méduse’s Instagram profile, the students were paired up and given just five hours to brainstorm ideas, and then produce images – either photographic or digital – to pitch to us in just under 2 minutes. Yep, we were tough!
Lucky for us, none of them buckled under the pressure, and they all showcased their talents by presenting some really unique and dynamic ideas. So it ended up being a quite brilliant and successful day all round!
In other Méduse news, our Account Manager Margaux has been been preparing a launch plan for the Spring-Summer Collection, and this week we interviewed blogger Jess from So Pretty Little Things for the the brand’s blog (you can check out our little convo with Jess, here!)
In other news, our Community Builder Tina has been hard-at-work preparing a content strategy for Shiseido in anticipation for Valentine’s Day. The activity has now launched, and you can see the result of her hard-work both in this link (http://www.everbloom-lovenotes.com/) or in the Facebook post below:
As well as this, we’ve been preparing for a super awesome pitch, as well as finalising an important trade show appearance for one of our B2B clients, and our Operations Manager Efrem has concluded the reporting model for measuring the time the team spends per client – this will have direct impact on the agency’s efficiency and how we pick our future clients.
And last night, Laurent led a keynote speech for Hult Business School for undergraduate students. Laurent used this time to discuss how digital is changing marketing and advertising and how this is creating new career paths for marketeers. 75 students attended the event (full house!!!), and after the success of the Ravensbourne College workshop, we will be looking to kickstart a series of workshops with them as well.
With Laurent also set to be interviewed for wersm.com, it looks like RE-UP will be making some more noise!
As always, here’s a few stories that caught our eye this week:
- News of a nonlinear Twitter timeline has been kicking about for a while, but it now seems as if it is set to become a reality. As Twitter still wants to keep the real-time nature of the channel, the new feature will be an extension of the current ‘while you were away’. We’re currently unconvinced if this is the best move for Twitter as it breaks the flow of the conversation, and tarnishes their unique identity. Thoughts?
- Social media channels erupted as the Premier League introduced its new brand identity, with a new look and logo. In a move that will distance the PL from its key sponsors, it seems as if the brand is now more interested in celebrating its own heritage and story.
- Social media and community managers rejoice – your days of operating Instagram could be about to get a whole lot easier with the company testing out a new function to make switching between accounts swifter. No longer will you have to consistently sign-out of multiple accounts, but merely swipe between them with ease. This function is going to make some RE-UP employees very happy 🙂
