Ok…countdown to Spring anyone? 20th March, you can’t come soon enough – today’s sun has got us hungry for more!
So, this week we’ve had some amazing projects on – but, as usual, some we can’t shout from the rooftops yet. Talking of rooftops, that’s where we shot the new campaign for Méduse Spring Summer season featuring the gorgeous Les Paulettes girls. Coming to you from the rooftops of Paris and bringing to life the fun, Frenchness of the brand and we’re super happy with the result.

And…we’ve just started working with Firefox OS for the African launch, on a project that’s every techie’s dream. New briefs for some kick-ass pitches means we’ve been brainstorming like crazy – needless to say, it’s definitely been hardcore ‘deck’ time. Which also means that we have a new community builder in Paris. Senegal, Egypt, here we come!
Hush hush, RE-UP is in the capitale de l’amour. But don’t tell the world yet.
We’ve also discussed some confidential digital developments with the amazing Nespresso guys and McCann people. What else? Uh.
Kicking off this week, we started with a presentation from our Content Strategist Zoë, on a few of Facebook’s new developments. However, one stood out most to the team and stirred feelings pretty intensely on a Monday morning – the introduction of Zuckerberg’s new ‘Suicide tool’ no less. Our Creative Strategist Laurent was so fired up, he wrote for Social Media Today about the risks involved when you completely miss the point and what the alternative could have looked like instead.
On Thursday, our very own Dan set up a great creative review lunch. We had an intense debate on the “Be More Dog” case study for O2. That was epic; and it also revealed the new territories of our jobs as creativity marketers: do we stop at the advertising, or do we transform organizations? Our bet is that you will no longer be able to advertise without setting up a proper social business.
We are shortlisted for 3 EMEA campaigns; the next 2 weeks are going to be C R U C I A L for us as we’re fighting some big boys. But we have the big girls with us, which is the sense of history, nope?
In brighter news, Converse have been looking to create new bonds with their fans and customers through their new ‘Made By You’ campaign. This campaign has seen the shoe brand set up a pop-art exhibition in LA featuring portraits of the leading cultural figures who don their shoes, as well as unknown figures in music, art and street style.
As well as this the brand have stated that they are comfortable showing their shoes being battered and worn-out, as they see this as part of the narrative of the shoes – and reaffirms that they are a countercultural brand who do not make a fuss over everything looking perfect.
So, another day, another dollar, another week and we’re feeling good as we head into March. Check back next week for more news straight from our minds.
Oh and as always we’re looking for creative mavericks, misfits and multi-talented individuals to join our team for a placement (flexible timings). If you’re interested in finding out more, please send your CV and cover letter to letstalk@thisisreup.com
Up, up and away.
