It’s just another Friday in the RE-UP office…
…And by that I mean we’re all incredibly tired from a hard week’s work.
For starters our team has been strategically developing the concepts and potential territories for two French shoe brands, Baudou and Umo. With two of our Planners for support, our Copywriter Krish has been constructing various taglines that the brands could use to celebrate their cultural and brand identity (which were pitched to the client earlier today).
On a slightly different note, our designer Andrea has finalised our proposals for the new visual guidelines for French kids shoe brand, Bopy – this has involved the development of several fantasy characters (it’s all a little ‘hush hush’ at the moment, but stay tuned to find out more).
In other news, a few guys from RE-UP caught-up with the creative bunch at SOS Bell Air to discuss working together on a project for one of our clients.
Following up from his lecture last week at Hult International Business School, Laurent (along with our very own Operations Manager, Efrem) caught up with the folks down there to discuss the development of two workshops that will involve their students and a couple of global brands.
As well as this Laurent had a really great interview with the guys from Wersm, and we’re now into the last round for a fantastic lifestyle professional brand.
Here are just a couple of stories from the world of media that caught our attention this week:
- With much anticipation building, Kanye West has finally released his brand new album The Life of Pablo (or was it Swish, Waves or So Help Me God? We’ve lost track.) However despite commanding a loyal fanbase, it’s ended up being illegally downloaded over 500,000. Why is this, I hear you ask. Well despite recognising an increase in people consuming new music through streaming services, he decided to release his album on Jay Z’s Tidal, rather than the often preferred Spotify or Apple Music. This comes only a little after Rihanna’s new album failed to bring a new audience to Tidal as well. Another wave that’s crashed…
- If you have an iPhone, whatever you do, don’t set the internal clock back to 1st January 1970. While a fake ad emerged claiming that it would unlock a retro Easter egg, it actually blocks the device (not sure how you would find this out in the first place, but oh well). A surprising fault from one of the world’s biggest tech companies.
