RE-UPdate #10: Let’s hear it for the creative misfits!

This is it guys, our first milestone – in the form of RE-UPdate #10!

Woooo.

We had a pretty interesting week with a slight change of scenery on Wednesday – the RE-UP Creative Day! Bright-eyed and bushy-tailed we rocked up to ACE Hotel Shoreditch to begin a day designed to help us open our minds, relax our ‘rigid frameworks’ and give us time to think more creatively.

The brief exercise was challenging – trying to imagine a campaign in 5 minutes to support the launch of a beauty product designed for teenage girls. Cliché right? So all the more reason to try it out and see what we came up with.

We had everything from a blogger activation programme to an education programme in schools to a nightclub guerilla marketing tactic. All pretty crazy and something we’ll definitely carry forward when we’re working on new bizniz briefs.

It’s important to challenge yourself and it’s important to dare to be different – even if you feel a bit weird and people look at you funny.

Our friend from Fast And Food popped in for a visit and got our mouths watering with promises of new burger creations.

We have a very special guest this week at the agency! Our friend FASTANDFOOD . So chic, so #foodporn 🙂

On the client side, we’re gearing up to kick start our digital support of iDBUS for the UK market and will be dreaming of Amsterdam, Brussels and our very dear Paris for the foreseeable future. Fingers crossed for some method experience in the form of some coach trips. 🙂

Our foxy Firefox OS Africa team are in full swing and we’re very happy to be working with such an enthusiastic community.

Annnd, we were like kids in a sweet shop during this week’s meeting at Mozilla London HQ – unlimited drinks, snacks and mints for free? Don’t mind if we do.

But it wasn’t all creative free-thinking – we had our eyes on the news too.

We’re big fans of finding ways to tell stories better and amidst the BOHO chic, billowing hippy skirts and fringe bags at Coachella, we caught sight of VINE’s new channel.

Focusing on content from two high profile Vine users, Devon and Cody.

It’s a pretty interesting example of how a short form video format platform is progressing to lengthen the narrative of content and provide dedicated playlists to celebrate and extend certain user’s content.

People went mad for the Apple Watch – but how are marketeers going to jump on board this device?

And while we’re on the subject, why not visit an old rivalry that’s been brought to life by Google Maps.

Last but not least, our guru wrote a chapter in a book. Round of applause Laurent ;p
